Birth preparation with hypnosis · in English
Giving birth in a country that isn't your first home brings its own questions. A different healthcare system, another language in the delivery room, family far away. Birth preparation with hypnosis helps you and your birth partner go into the birth calmer, more confident and more self-determined.

Hypnosis is a state of focused, relaxed attention – like the moment just before falling asleep. You stay aware and in control the whole time. We use this state to teach your nervous system to switch into a calm, restful mode during birth instead of alarm mode.
The goal is not a pain-free birth. The goal is a birth in which you feel present, calm and connected to yourself – with techniques you can really use when it matters.
Many partners have a quiet fear of standing helplessly beside the bed. In our sessions, your birth partner learns concrete ways to support you – through touch, words and guiding your breathing. And the calm breathing works for them, too: in the delivery room and in stressful moments at work.

Ideally, you start between the 20th and 30th week of pregnancy – but individual sessions can also begin later, or earlier if you feel anxious about the birth. My group courses are currently held in German.
What research shows: Hypnosis-based birth preparation has been studied internationally. The best-supported findings: women tend to need pain relief less often during labour, and their anxiety before and during birth decreases. I can't promise you a specific birth outcome – nobody can honestly do that. What I can offer are tools that give you and your body the best conditions to go through birth calmly.
